Stoke Newington History Talks - A Reoccurring Local History Event

About the event

Stoke Newington History Talks is a Stoke Newington history event that has been taking place every 4 months since 2016, offering an opportunity to uncover the area's rich history. The event is organised by local historian Amir Dotan (www.StokeNewingtonHistory.com), who is joined at each event by two guest speakers. As of August 2023 there have been 19 events, featuring 36 guest speakers.

Each event is a journey through time, featuring three lively talks that cover a wide range of topics. From the secrets of Abney Park Cemetery to untold stories of Stoke Newington's boundaries, the history of the local rail station, and even the stories behind street names and plenty more.
